Client: A large financial services conglomerate with a focus on asset management and wealth management.
Situation: There was a proliferation of multiple capability models across business units with overlapping capabilities and varying levels of specificity and granularity.
Solution: Capstera’s approach was to study the different models to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the model, such as level of precision, depth and granularity, internal consistency and stability of the capability models. In addition, based on our domain knowledge and industry experience, we were able to understand the essence of what the firm does and articulate it in a strawman enterprise business capability model.
Outcome: After a couple of iterations, the newly created capabilities model resonated with teams across the board and was adopted as the basis for an enterprise-wide business/IT transformation.
