Your privacy is important to Capstera. We at times collect, retain and utilize Personal Information about you to operate our business and to make services and other opportunities available. The term “Personal Information” means personally identifiable information that Capstera obtains about you, which could include your name, credit card number, telephone number, physical address and email address. We recognize and respect your privacy concerns about this information. We obtain Personal Information in a variety of ways (for example, directly from your Site registration, from your other transactions or experiences with Capstera or its affiliates, including comments and information that you submit when utilizing the “social networking” aspects of the Site, or from other third parties). Also, when you visit the Site, we collect information that does not identify you to measure the use of the Site and to improve the content of the Site, as described below.
Capstera may use Non-Personal & Personal Information to provide customer support, track customer behavior and trends to help improve Capstera services and personalize your experience and otherwise operate or enhance Subscriber’s experience with Capstera’s services.
Capstera provides a cloud-based Application for subscribers. This Application is a capability definition and mapping solution capturing the essence of “what” a business does through capability mapping and enabling subscribers to map, manage, and develop their company’s strategy, capabilities and portfolio. Application Data is all content contained within the Application. This includes content authored by Capstera, as well as content that was authored by Subscribers. Application Data, in general, is not available to be viewed by non-Subscribers.
Personal Information, Non-Personal Information and Application Data posted by our Subscribers may be shared with or disclosed to other Subscribers with your permission. Permission might be given to specific Subscribers or Subscribers that belong to a specific organization after those Subscribers have demonstrated that they belong to said organizations.
As is true of most websites, Capstera may gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information, which does not identify you, could include but is not restricted to Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream information. We may use this information to track user habits and improve the functionality of the Site as a result of our observations.
We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you visit the Site in the future. In addition, when a user views one of our Site advertisements, we may store some information on that user’s computer. Cookies allow for tailoring the Site and its advertisements to better match users’ interests and preferences. Most Internet browsers enable users to erase cookies from their computer’s hard drive, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Capstera does not collect Personal Information automatically, but may tie information that does not identify you (that is collected automatically) to previously submitted Personal Information.
Capstera may use web beacons to collect non-personal information about your use of the Site. Web beacons are tiny graphic image files, imbedded in a web page in GIF, jpeg or HTML format, typically used to monitor activity on a web page and send back to its home server (which can belong to the host site, a network advertiser or some other third party) information from your browser, such as the IP address, the URL of the page on which the beacon is located, the type of browser that is accessing the site and the ID number of any Cookies on your computer previously placed by that server. Web beacons can also be used to place a Cookie on your computer. This information allows us to monitor email and Site statistics. We may use web beacons to deliver advertisements on our Site.
Capstera might contract with third parties, allowing third parties to collect Non-Personal Information using Cookies or web beacons about the usage of our Site primarily to deliver information to better customize information and advertising. If your browser is set to reject cookies, we will not send any non-personal to these third parties.
We also disclose Personal Information about you as required or permitted by law, including to comply with legal process (for example, we may disclose your information as necessary to comply with an authorized civil, criminal or regulatory investigation).
We may, in our sole discretion, share or transfer your Personal Information to protect the security or integrity of our databases or the Site, to protect our business or reputation, to take precautions against legal liability, in the event of a business transition (see below), to protect and defend our rights or property, for required institutional risk control, or for resolving disputes, inquiries or complaints with respect to your use of the Site.
Furthermore, we may also provide our partners and other third partners who might benefit from the information with aggregated information, i.e., compiled information that does not in itself identify you, for research and commercial purposes.
Capstera provides the opportunity to our users at several points to sign up for newsletters, emails and receive secure and tailored messages through our Site. In order to sign up for our newsletters and emails, we need to collect your email and potentially other contact information.
If you decide that you would prefer not to receive newsletters, emails and messages from Capstera, you may “Opt-out” of these services by following the link at the end of each communication or clicking on your settings tab.
After registration, you may use certain Capstera tools and services that may ask for additional voluntarily information about yourself including Personal Information. Capstera may aggregate data from multiple users, including Personal Information, in a non-identifiable format that may be disclosed to third parties. Aggregate data does not contain any information that could identify you and we require third parties to agree that they would not combine our data with other databases to attempt to make this information personally identifiable.
You should know that while visiting the Site, you can be directed, through links, to other websites that are beyond Capstera’s control. Capstera is not responsible for the privacy practices and policies of such websites.
